What one-to-one training includes

  • Movement assessment — a baseline of mobility, stability and loading patterns before we write a single set.
  • Your own pod — equipment reserved for your session, so there is no queueing or sharing a rack mid-set.
  • A program built for you — progressed off your assessment and your diagnostics, not a class template.
  • 30-minute scheduling — sessions and check-ins booked in blocks that fit around work and family, not a rigid class calendar.
  • Diagnostics feeding the plan — metabolic testing and body composition scans inform load, volume and recovery, not just anecdote.

Private pods, not a shared floor

Personal training at Aeon Wellness Club happens in a private training pod: an equipped bay reserved for your session, not a station you rotate through with other members. That distinction matters more than it sounds. A shared floor means waiting for equipment, working around other people's sets, and a coach whose attention is split. A pod means your equipment is set up before you arrive and your coach's attention is on you for the full session. It is the same structural idea behind our customized group training, scaled down to one member and one coach.

The movement assessment

Every member starts with a movement assessment, not a workout. Your coach evaluates mobility, joint stability and loading patterns to understand where you move well, where you compensate, and where load should be added carefully rather than aggressively. This is standard practice for any program meant to last, and it is the step most big-box gyms skip in favor of getting you moving on day one. The assessment also surfaces anything worth a closer look from our physical therapy team before heavy loading begins.

The assessment is not a one-time formality. Coaches revisit movement quality periodically as your program progresses, since a pattern that looked clean at a lighter load can break down once volume or intensity increases, and catching that early is part of what a dedicated coach in a private pod is actually for. This ongoing attention is the practical difference between training with a coach who is watching every rep and training in a space where a single trainer is managing a room full of people at once.

How a program is actually built

From the assessment, your coach writes a program addressed to your goals, your schedule and your movement history, not a class template applied to everyone in the room. Programming decisions draw on more than what happens on the floor: where relevant, results from metabolic testing inform training zones and recovery demands, and periodic body composition tracking shows whether the plan is producing the composition change a member actually wants, not just a shift in scale weight. The result is a plan that changes as you do, reviewed and progressed session to session rather than locked in for a twelve-week cycle regardless of how you respond.

What a session looks like

Sessions run in 30-minute scheduling blocks, which means training fits around a workday or a school pickup rather than forcing you into a fixed class time. A typical session opens with a short movement check, moves into the main strength or conditioning work for that block of the program, and closes with targeted mobility or recovery work specific to what was loaded that day. Coaches track session-to-session performance so progressions are based on what you actually did last time, not a guess.

Because the pod is reserved and equipped ahead of time, a 30-minute session is not shortchanged the way a half-hour on a shared gym floor often is, where several of those minutes disappear to waiting for a rack or resetting equipment someone else left out. Every minute of a booked block is coaching and working time. For members who want more volume or a longer block for a specific phase of training, sessions can be scheduled back to back or extended, but the half-hour unit is what makes consistent, frequent training realistic for someone whose week is already full.

Coaching team

Every coach at Aeon combines a certification base with real athletic or clinical experience. Thomas Jenei holds a degree in Exercise Science from Georgia College & State University with NASM certifications in Personal Training, Performance Enhancement and Corrective Exercise, plus Precision Nutrition Level 1, and has coached Division I athletes, longevity-focused adults, and middle- and high-school athletes (see our purpose page). Casey Moore, a former collegiate basketball player with more than 15 years in the industry, specializes in athletic performance, biomechanics and movement assessment. Donaven Hairston, a former collegiate basketball athlete with a background in exercise science and sport management, leads our metabolic testing program and uses that data to structure how clients train. Michael Zabetakis, a former professional basketball player in Europe and NASM-certified trainer, and David Graham, a Certified Personal Trainer with advanced education through the CHEK Institute and Functional Patterns, round out a team built around functional movement, mobility and longevity rather than short-term intensity for its own sake.

Who this suits

Personal training at Aeon suits members whose real constraint is time: executives, parents and masters athletes who want a program that respects a tight schedule without compromising on how carefully it is built. It works equally well as a stand-alone service or as the training foundation underneath a golf performance block, a medical weight loss program, or a return from injury coordinated with physical therapy. If you would prefer the energy of a small group while keeping an individually written program, our customized group training format delivers that same personalization in a shared setting.

Members coming from a different kind of training background, a former athlete returning to structured exercise after years away, a masters athlete managing joints that respond differently to load than they did at twenty, or someone whose only prior gym experience was a crowded class floor, all start from the same assessment. The program that comes out the other side looks different for each of them, because it is built from what the assessment finds and what the schedule allows, not from an assumption about what a person your age or background should be doing.

Questions

What members ask before starting

What happens in the first session?

The first session is a movement assessment covering mobility, stability, and loading history, along with a conversation about your goals and schedule. Your coach uses that baseline to write the initial training block rather than starting from a generic template.

How is a private pod different from a normal gym floor?

Each pod is equipped and reserved for your session, so you are not sharing a rack, waiting for equipment, or working around a crowded floor. It is one-to-one coaching in a dedicated space, not a station in a class.

Do I need a fitness background to start?

No. Programs are written to your current movement quality and history, whether that is a first-time gym-goer, a returning athlete, or someone rebuilding after time off. The assessment is what sets the starting point.

How often will my program change?

Your coach reviews and progresses your program on an ongoing basis, using performance in session and, where relevant, results from metabolic testing or a body composition scan to guide the next block.

Can personal training work alongside golf or another sport?

Yes. Coaches build general strength and mobility work around a sport-specific goal, and where golf is the focus we run assessment and programming through our dedicated golf performance track.

I joined after my first few days of trial. Aeon has put together an elite team of trainers who guide you and correct your form every step of the way. With each little tweak I could feel the muscle that was intended to be worked. My wife and I train here 3–4 times a week and we can already see the transformation.
